Please see below an invitation from 3C Waste Ltd. to all members of the community to attend a public consultation meeting regarding an application to extend the existing landfill site at Maw Green:
I write to inform you that 3C Waste Ltd, a subsidiary of Waste Recycling Group Ltd (WRG) is currently in the process of preparing a planning application and undertaking an Environmental Impact Assessment in respect of a proposed extension of life to the Maw Green Landfill facility.
Maw Green Landfill is one of only 2 strategic landfill sites within Cheshire East and would continue to provide an important role for the final disposal of residual wastes until such time as alternative residual treatment facilities become operational.
Following cessation of landfilling at Danes Moss Landfill site in 2012, the Maw Green facility will become the only landfill disposal facility in the Cheshire East area. The proposal does not seek additional void but would enable the remaining one million cubic metres of consented void to be fully utilised over an extended period to the year 2017, enabling the final approved restoration landform to be achieved.
WRG would like to take this opportunity to invite members of the community to find out more about the proposal at a public exhibition. Representatives of WRG will be on hand to answer questions and listen to your views.
This will provide an opportunity for the local community to influence the plans prior to formal submission of the application to CE Authority.
The public exhibition will be held at the Gutterscroft Community Centre, The Gutterscroft, Haslington, CW1 5RJ on Thursday 21st January between the times of 13 00 and 20 00. We hope that members of the Parish will be able to attend and we look forward to discussing our proposals further.
