Health Walks – Every Tuesday

Last updated on 3 July 2016

Health walks are organised in Haslington every Tuesday.  They start from the car park in Waterloo Road close to Bargain Booze, and the group sets out each week at 1:30pm.

They normally last just over one hour and follow footpaths through the fields and countryside surrounding Haslington.

Everyone is welcome to attend, just come to the car park at about 1:20pm.

Further details can be found here.

Hi, is this activity still running? I am keen to join a walking group that is aimed for those who have not had any exercise for a few years. I am 55 years old and in need of a gentle exercise programme to help improve my health. I have a controlled heart condition and controlled asthma. I have seen the ‘couch to 50k’ but don’t think its for me. Something like ‘couch to walking’ would be more my thing lol. I used to brisk walk for eight miles 2 or 3 times a week. I doubt I would achieve that again but by taking part in a walking programme will enable me to improve my health. Do you offer anything that would be suitable?

Yes the group is still running and anyone is very welcome to join us.
We meet on the car park in Waterloo Road outside Bargain Booze every Tuesday (rain or shine) at about 1:15 and depart at 1:30pm.
The walks are quite short 2 or 3 miles and there is no pressure regarding pace etc. We usually follow footpaths through the farmland around Haslington so it’s best if you can wear suitable footwear e.g. walking boots or good walking shoes.
