Precept Statement – Financial Year 2022 / 2023

Whilst an increase of 18% in the Parish Precept looks to be high for the forthcoming financial year 2022/2023, it is in real terms an increase of £6.16p per year on a Band D property – this is a monthly payable amount of 56p over the 10 months the Council Tax covers

The Haslington Parish Council provides a number of services paid for by the Parish Precept

  • A portion of litter and waste collection
  • Flowers and plants provision
  • Upkeep of seating, benches and bins
  • Grass cutting and grounds maintenance
  • Community projects such as the Best Kept Garden Competition and donations to support churchyard upkeep
  • The annual Remembrance Sunday event
  • The Christmas tree on the Village Green and the Annual Carol Service plus support to other local Christmas related activities

In the next fiscal year, the Parish Council is putting together

  • A Neighbourhood Plan to get some say in any new building proposals
  • CCTV on the Gutterscroft Centre and playing field
  • Costing and developing plans to enhance the community centre and activities
  • Queen’s Platinum Jubilee celebrations
  • And continuing its ongoing commitment to carry out work to enhance the local environment and activities which improve a number of areas throughout the Parish

All of this is provided for the villages of Haslington, Oakhanger, Wheelock Heath and Winterley which are included within the Parish
