Parish Council Meeting Notes – May 2017

The AGM of Haslington Parish Council began at 7pm. There were no residents present at this meeting.
The Chairman, Councillor Geoff Beadle, read his report on the last 12 months of the work of the Parish Council. He thanked all who had helped in the running of the Council and said he was very happy with the work that had been done over the last 12 months.
He made special mention of events that had taken place ie Best Kept Gardens Competition, the Remembrance Service and the Carol Service to name but a few. He thanked all who had been concerned in organising these events and made special mention of thanks to the Clerk Mrs Joan Adams for all her help over the last 12 months.

The May meeting of the Parish Council began with appointment of the Chairman and Vice Chairman, Councillor Beadle was elected as Chairman for the next 12 months and Councillor Mottram was elected as Vice Chairman. The Committees for the next 12 months were elected but Winterley Ward had a vacancy for a Councillor because of the resignation of Councillor Gorman. An election was to be organised for the Winterley Ward vacancy if more than 10 candidates registered their interest the election. This would take place on 29 June and candidates need to register by 4pm on 2 June 2017. The Chairman paid thanks to Councillor Gorman for all her help during her time as Councillor for Winterley Ward.
Winterley Pool bus stop is now installed although the original bus stop is still being used.
The new noticeboards for Winterley are now in place.
Hall of the Heath have applied for the footpath to be diverted and the Parish Council have no objection to this.
There is to be a poster erected locally asking for help in fighting the dog fouling problem

Any concerns residents may have over potholes etc would they please ring 0300 123 5500 where they can report the problem directly to Cheshire East Council.
