North West in Bloom Awards – 2011

The work of our keen gardeners has helped Haslington and Winterley both win Silver Medals in this year’s North West in Bloom competition. Haslington won silver in the small town category, and Winterley silver in the large village category.

But a further surprise came at the presentation ceremony in Southport last Thursday. The Haslington Conservation Volunteers have been awarded “The Pinnacle PSG Trophy for Conservation and the Environment”, one of the top awards in the North West of England. This is an excellent achievement in recognition of the work and projects undertaken by the Volunteers in the fields and footpaths around our villages.
