At a meeting on 7th September, arranged by Haslington Parish Council, local residents were assured by Cheshire East Leader Michael Jones that certain proposed housing developments were unlikely to be accepted by the Planning Authority because Cheshire East were able to demonstrate that they had already identified land to meet the Governments five year supply requirement.
It has now been widely reported that this may not now be the case, following the Secretary of State’s decision on an appeal concerning a development in Sandbach. (See Crewe Chronicle article here: http://www.crewechronicle.co.uk/news/crewe-south-cheshire-news/cheshire-easts-plans-plunged-chaos-6227175)
One development referred to during the meeting on 7th September was the proposal by Richborough Estates Partnership for up to 250 houses on land off Crewe Road, Haslington, CW1 5RT. A planning application has now been submitted for this development and details can be viewed on the Cheshire East website, www.cheshireeast.gov.uk/planning, or at any office of the Council, under Planning Application: 13/4301N.
