On behalf of Haslington Parish Council I would like to congratulate all the award winners in this year’s Best Kept Gardens awards.
Being able to meet and handover the awards has always been one of the highlights in the civic year in the parish, but with COVID-19 safety in mind the awards will be delivered directly to the winning properties. I would like to thank Cllr Howard Blake for organising the judging.
It is pleasing to note that several of the awards have been won by properties on some of our new developments. Joining other residents and visitors exploring the whole parish on foot or bicycle during the lockdown we have been able to see the hard work put in by many dedicated gardeners whose efforts make the whole parish so bright and cheerful through the growing season.
I hope that next year the awards will be able to be handed over in person.
(Richard Hovey, Chairman, Haslington Parish Council.)
