~~ANNUAL SPORTS EVENT –V- PIKEMERE PRIMARY~~
On Friday, 19th April, our Year 3, 4, 5 and 6 Football teams and our Netball A team played fixtures against Pikemere Primary in Alsager. The children took part in a fantastic afternoon of sport, in glorious sunshine and were treated to much needed biscuits and squash after their sporting efforts. Scores were as follows:
Year 3 Football – lost 7-0
Year 4 Football – won 7-1
Year 5 Football – won 4-1
Year 6 Football – lost 3-1
Netball A Team – won 7-1
We are extremely proud of all our players and look forward to the rematches next year!
~~RUGBY COACHING~~
Due to the ongoing success of the current Rugby after school club, Sports Coaching North West is offering a unique experience to all Key Stage 2 pupils at The Dingle.
The Sale Sharks and England Saxon player James Gaskell is coming to take a one off session at school. He will run a 30 minute training session with all the players before signing autographs and taking a question and answer session.
The Rugby after school club is running every Thursday afternoon for the next 9 weeks and there are still places available. The course covers all the major aspects of Tag Rugby. If you child would like to attend the James Gaskell session on Thursday 2nd May, 3.30 – 4.30 p.m. the cost is £5.00 and the children will be bringing a letter home this evening.
~~CYCLING TO SCHOOL~~
During the summer term pupils begin to travel to school on their bikes. Please be extra vigilant when opening your car doors as a cyclist may well be approaching.
~~THE PTA @ VILLAGE FETE~~
The PTA is running a stall at the Haslington Village Fete and is holding a non-uniform day on Friday 3rd May. Instead of bringing a £1 to raise funds for school, on this occasion we would like pupils to bring a tombola prize. Please support your child’s school and hand in the prizes to your child’s class teacher. Thank you.
~~MONEY~~
Please can we ask parents not to send money that is for the school office in your child’s purse or loose in your child’s bag. Money for trips and dinners should be in a clearly marked envelope with your child’s name, class and the purpose of the money. Your child should hand the envelope to their class teacher where possible, or failing that, hand it in to Mrs Charlton or Mrs Robinson in the school office.
PARENT LUNCHES 2013~~
You are invited to attend your child’s class lunch. You will be sent an invitation for
2 PEOPLE ONLY with a reply slip to let us know if you will be attending. Please arrive at school at 11.55am where you will be met by your child and enjoy a Dingle roast dinner together. We would ask that you leave the school via the main entrance soon after you have finished eating and not accompany your child to the playground. Please see dates below.

Miss Collens Wednesday 8th May
~~HOLIDAYS~~
Just a reminder that parents are requested to avoid booking holidays in term time. If you request absence for holiday the authority’s formula for calculating authorised/unauthorised holiday will be applied. This formula is based on prior attendance and proximity to exams. Please be aware that any continued unauthorised absence may result in a fixed penalty fine or prosecution.
