Sorry – Delayed Until Further Notice

Last updated on March 18, 2020

Unfortunately, following recent announcements, we are delaying the start of the community cinema until further notice.

Due to be released in March, our first film will be Military Wives, which follows a group of women in England whose partners are away serving in Afghanistan. Faced with the men’s absences, they form a choir and quickly find themselves at the centre of a media sensation and global movement.

Note: We have the Community Cinema at the Yoxall for a trial period in April, May, June and July

Thanks to Nick at the Yoxall for his help, and also more Community support by the Bakery and Harvey’s, who will both be selling tickets on our behalf. (The Bakery will also be selling refreshments at the event.)

More details to follow.

My stepdad was in the Korean War, we have recently been re-United with his medals after they were sold after his death. They’re now back where they belong and we’re proud to have them.

How lovely, especially as he was born and bred in Haslington. Total respect for Sapper Derek Frank Cope, formerly of Mere Street I believe his Uncle who died in the WWI has his name on the War Memorial. x
