Summer Fair Photos

The fair held on 21st July 2010 celebrated 200 years of St Matthew’s Church building and 500 years of Trinity Cottage. It featured stalls and games, displays and dramas and refreshments in the garden of Trinity Cottage. It was a very enjoyable occasion and our thanks go to all the organisers and contributors.

Haslington on BBC Radio Stoke – Friday 19th Feb

BBC Radio stoke hosted two special guests on their “Breakfast” programme last Friday, Haslington WI representatives Rachel Hughes and Izzy Rutter. Rachel and Izzy chatted with presenter Pete Morgan about the WI and Haslington in general and the show included several interviews with local people recorded on location earlier in the week.

Land Needed in Haslington for Allotments or Garden Sharing

Land For Allotments

There are a number of people in Haslington who would very much like the to have an allotment in order to grow vegitables etc., but currently the Parish Council have been unable to find suitable and available land. Please contact the website (here) if you have land that could be made available and would like to discuss this further with the Parish Council.

Garden Sharing

If you would be happy to share your garden, or part of a garden area, with someone under a private arrangement the Parish Council would like to help and would, if possible, assist in putting you in touch with interested parties. (Contact here)

Cheshire Police Burglary Prevention Video

Cheshire police have produced a video which gives some very good advice on how to prevent burglaries. It can be found here and is definitely worth watching.

Renault Espace Left on Fox Car Park

The caretaker at the Fox Inn, Mr Croombs, has reported that a Renault Espace car (Reg: M678ACR) has been left on the Fox car park for more than three days and must be removed by the owner as soon as possible otherwise the vehicle will be removed for them and costs charged to the owner. Police Surgeries – Contacting Your Local Police

PC Nick Moore holds regular surgeries every month prior to the Parish Council meetings. If you have any concerns regarding unruly or unsociable behaviour or criminal incidents this is a good opportunity to discuss them with Nick. After all, if the Police are not aware of your concerns it is unlikely that they will be able to help you. Please use this service. Two Burglaries in Haslington

I have just received the following message from a Haslington resident:

Message: I just wanted to let you know, so you can pass on the information, that I had my handbag taken from our kitchen by a sneak thief on Sunday evening. He/she got in through the conservatory and crawled through the dining room to the kitchen. I heard a noise and we switched off the sound to the T.V. to listen but assumed it was someone slamming car doors outside and didn’t investigate.

I hope you will be able to put out a warning on the website to prevent others from suffering the same fate. We have heard from the police that another house nearby was burgled two nights later with the same result.

We have been very impressed with the service we have received from the police who were with us within 30minutes of our initial call and since then we have received support from the local policeman and P.C.S.O. plus crime scene investigator and Victim Support.

We now want to put it behind us and are just grateful that no-one was hurt and no damage done to the house.

Lost Mobile Phone – New Year Eve/Day

Samantha Green lost a mobile phone on New Years Eve / NY Day morning. The phone is not as important as the sim card.
